DOWNTOWN -- The Citizens' Task Force on Chargers Issues has been given additional time to complete its work.

The San Diego City Council yesterday extended until Feb. 28 the deadline for the 15-member panel to complete its review of a plan by the San Diego Chargers to build a stadium to replace Qualcomm Stadium in Mission Valley. The original task-force deadline was Feb. 17.

The new date for submitting a report to the City Council is March 6. Mayor Dick Murphy said he plans to hold a public hearing on the task force recommendations March 18.
