Project Background
Water Group Job 3012 is part of a program established by the City of San Diego and the Department of Public Health mandating the replacement of all aging and deteriorating cast iron water mains. This project will bring the existing water mains up to current City standards, increase service reliability and minimize future water main breaks.
Project Overview
The project is located in Council District 2 within the Pacific Beach Community area, and consists of replacing 42,020 linear feet (7.96 miles) of existing cast iron water mains via open trench with new eight inch (8") and twelve inch (12") pipes within the City's right of way. The project also includes curb ramp installation and street resurfacing.

Project Updates
5/6/11 - Pipeline replacement on Garnet Ave. between Cass and Lamont Streets is scheduled to be complete by May 27, 2011.
Pipeline replacement is taking place on Pacific Beach Dr. between Haines and Lamont Streets; Jewell St. between Reed and Fortuna Avenues; Oliver Ave. between Jewell and Lamont Streets; and Promontory St. between Pacific Beach Dr. and Fortuna Ave. Work on this phase will be completed by mid-September 2011.
