Duties
To be responsible for the management, maintenance, supervision, and operation of the San Diego Convention Center and all incidental or related matters. Develop, recommend and implement programs concerning promotion and marketing. To enter into contracts necessary or expedient in furtherance of purposes for corporation.
Appointment
Elected by the member (City of San Diego).
Term
Three (3) year staggered terms and until their successor is duly appointed. Member shall be appointed in such a manner that the terms of not more than three (3) members shall expire in any year. In the event that the Council does not act to fill a vacancy within thirty (30) days, vacancies may be filled by a majority of the remaining directors even though the number remaining is less than a quorum.
Composition
Seven (7) members, all of whom shall be residents of the City or County of San Diego. Consideration to minority representation from the visitor industry and related fields. Each member is prohibit from engaging in any activity which could result in conflict of interest and must make an annual statement of financial disclosure. Two ex-officio Directors from CONVIS and Hotel-Motel Association.
