Water Authority Board, County of San Diego

Duties

The San Diego County Water Authority was created in 1946 primarily for the purpose of transporting Colorado River water to San Diego to supplement local water supplies and providing this water to its member agencies. Today, the Water Authority imports water from the Colorado River and Northern California via the California Aqueduct (State Water Project). Imported water supplies currently meet 75% - 90% of San Diego's demands for water.
