Reporting a Violation

Report code violations to the Neighborhood Code Compliance Department (NCCD) of the City of San Diego (619) 236-5500. If NCCD is unable to gain voluntary compliance in a timely manner, the case will be referred to the City Attorney's Code Enforcement Unit for prosecution. Criminal cases filed carry a maximum penalty of $1,000 fine and/or 6 months in jail. In civil cases, CEU prosecutors may seek penalties of up to $2,500 per day for each Municipal Code violation. If there are violations of the Business and Professional Code, our prosecutors seek higher fines.
