Workers' Compensation Unit

This unit handles cases for all City Departments and is responsible for litigating personal injuries on the job, and to protect and defend the City’s efforts in cases involving improper workers’ compensation claims brought against it each year. This unit consists of four attorneys plus support staff and handles over 290 cases at any one time – a very heavy caseload in this field.
