Neighborhood Bridge Opens to Traffic

On Friday, October 8th Councilman Scott Peters joined community leaders to celebrate the completion of the Carmel Mountain Road (Neighborhood 10) bridge.

The Neighborhood 10 Bridge is an important roadway link connecting Carmel Valley with Torrey Hills and the Sorrento Valley area. The new bridge connection will reduce commute times for residents and improve response times for police and fire vehicles.

"This connection not only connects two great communities, but will greatly improve the quality of life, reduce commute times and improve public safety in Carmel Valley and Torrey Hills," said Councilman Peters at the event.

Without the bridge, Sage Canyon Elementary parents living in Torrey Hills commuted an average of twenty-five minutes. Now families living in Torrey Hills will only have to commute five minutes to Sage Canyon Elementary.

The bridge will also facilitate the building of the new Vons center in Torrey Hills.
