SDG&E's Sunrise Powerlink Proposal
Over the past few weeks, I have heard from many residents who are opposed to the Sunrise Powerlink project, which would build a major electric transmission line from Imperial County to San Diego.
I am committed to ensuring that projects such as this which affect our community are appropriate, subject to a thorough review process, and that residents have a voice in the conversation. When San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) first proposed the Sunrise Powerlink, I met with them to gauge whether this project was truly necessary, and I sought input from the affected communities.
Ensuring the future reliability of our regions energy sources is something we should all support. However, I have questions about where the Sunrise Powerlink will be located, and to ensure concerns are being adequately addressed.
Below are links to information about the Sunrise Powerlink project and its proposed route.
I hope you will take the time to learn more about this important issue.
