Linear Park

This park also referred to as the Peñasquitos Town Centre Park, has been and remains one of Councilman Peters’ top priorities since taking office in 2000. After meeting with community leaders, city staff, and the city attorney's office, Councilman Peters asked the city attorney to move forward with enforcing the terms of a development agreement with Terrabrook development company that required the company to participate in the creation of the park. In addition to spurring the city attorney's office into action, Scott was successful in getting the developer to sign an agreement with the City to continue to work out their obligations to the building of the park after the original agreement had expired.

A settlement was reached in 2004 and Terrabrook agreed to provide construction-ready plans for the park and $200,000 to construct a 1.5 acre turf covered passive park with landscaping, a sidewalk, and picnic areas.

Councilman Peters is working with the Park and Recreation Department to ensure that construction begins as soon as the County Water Authority finishes its pipeline re-lining project and vacates the lot in Fall 2004.
