Doyle Park Improvements

Photo of New Restroom

On April 5, 2006 Council President Scott Peters joined hundreds of children and families from University City for a Spring celebration and dedication of improved facilities at Doyle Community Park. Park improvements include a new restroom near the childrens play area, additional picnic tables, a landscaped garden area and wider sidewalks and access ramps.

Peters thanked supporters in the community for their help in finishing the project. If not for the support and tireless effort of the Doyle Park and Recreation board and the University Community Planning Group, we wouldn't be here today. The thousands of families that use this popular park will benefit from your hard work.

Given the citys budget limitations, Council President Peters has sought out alternative funding sources to complete much-need community improvement projects. The $450,000 Doyle park project was funded entirely by the North UC Facilities Benefit Assessment, which is paid by developers of commercial and residential building projects.
