Community Canyon Fire Watch Program

Councilmember Lightner announces launch of San Diego's first Community Canyon Fire Watch Program

Councilmember Sherri Lightner, the Rancho Peñasquitos Fire Safe Council, the Rancho Peñasquitos Town Council, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department and other local community organizations and leaders have teamed up to start San Diego’s first Community Canyon Fire Watch Program. This program was designed to help prevent fire disasters in neighborhoods that surround the Los Peñasquitos Canyon in Rancho Peñasquitos by enlisting volunteers to monitor the canyon and report any fire activity to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. See below for more information about the program or volunteering.
