Lightner Proposes Transportation Projects for Stimulus TransNet Funds

The Mayor’s Office recently notified the Council that the City will soon be receiving $20.153 million in federal stimulus TransNet funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The Mayor’s Office asked each Council office to submit suggestions for transportation related projects in their district that could be funded with this TransNet money.

On Monday, Councilmember Lightner submitted a memo with a list of proposed projects located in District 1 based on community input regarding priorities for transportation related projects that she has received over the last several months.

The projects will be considered by the Budget Committee at their next meeting on Wednesday, July 8 at 9 am on the 12th Floor of the City Administration Building, 202 C Street, San Diego.

If you would like to attend the Budget Committee meeting to advocate on behalf of any of the proposed transportation projects for District 1, we would encourage and invite you to do so.

If you are not able to attend but would like to share your support for any of these proposed projects, please email Budget Committee Chair Tony Young and Budget Committee Members Todd Gloria, Carl DeMaio and Marti Emerald at tonyyoung@sandiego.gov, toddgloria@sandiego.gov, carldemaio@sandiego.gov, martiemerald@sandiego.gov.
