Chanelle Hawken - Policy Analyst
Chanelle Hawken serves as Councilman Peters' Policy Analyst. She is responsible for overseeing and coordinating policy issues for Council President Peters and preparation of items on the City Council docket. In addition, Chanelle handles several major policy areas for the office including Citywide Land Use Issues, Redevelopment, Downtown, Planning, Transportation (including SANDAG and MTS), Port issues, Padres, Historical Resources and Homelessness.
Chanelle holds a B.A. from the University of California at San Diego in Political Science and a minor in Law and Society, received J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law, and is a member of the California Bar. She has worked as a law clerk in the Community and Economic Development Department in the Business Expansion and Retention Team, the Office of the City Attorney in the Consumer Fraud and Environmental Protection Unit, and spent over a year as a legal intern in Council District 1 working on various land use issues in La Jolla. Chanelle is also a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and Lawyers Club.
