Woo-Jin Shim - Council Representative/Budget Analyst

Woo-Jin Shim serves as Councilman Peters' representative on land use and policy-related issues in Rancho Peñasquitos, Torrey Highlands, Del Mar Mesa, and Black Mountain Ranch. In his role as Budget Analyst, Woo-Jin provides analysis on matters regarding the City’s Employee Retirement Pension, City Audit, and City Finances. He also advises Councilman Peters on all issues involving public safety; including Police, Fire, and Homeland Security. Woo-Jin graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He also serves as Councilman Peters’ liaison in the Asian American Communities. In his spare time, Woo-Jin volunteers as a part time facilitator/youth counselor for the Aaron Price Fellows Program.
