La Jolla/Mount Soledad
La Jolla, or "The Jewel" in Spanish, sits west of I-5, flowing from Torrey Pines State Reserve in the north to the hills of Pacific Beach in the south. An incorporated part of San Diego since 1850, La Jolla is home to some of the world's most beautiful beaches, exclusive hotels and spas, gourmet restaurants, spectacular shopping districts, and the Torrey Pines Municipal Golf Course. Southern La Jolla, stretching from La Jolla Scenic Drive South to Pacific Beach, includes a large residential community. Mount Soledad sits on the east side of La Jolla. From the Mount Soledad War Memorial, you can find some of the City's most breathtaking views and luxurious hillside estates. From this summit, you can see the west to the Pacific, north to the beaches and south past Downtown as far as the U.S. border. Council RepresentativeThyme Curtis |
