Bankers Hill is situated on a hill north of Downtown and west of Balboa Park and stretches north to border Hillcrest. Due to the central location, this community has become a residential and small commercial hot spot. Bankers Hill showcases many Victorian and Craftsman homes, some of which have been converted from family homes into condominiums, law offices, dentist offices, and various other businesses. Visitors and residents can enjoy a delicious meal or a gourmet cup of coffee at one of many establishments throughout this older community. Folks are just a block away from Balboa Park and within sight of landing planes at nearby Lindbergh Field.

Nestled between Bankers Hill, University Heights, and North Park is the community of Hillcrest. Hillcrest is the model of an “urban village.” It is one of the most self-sufficient, pedestrian-friendly communities in San Diego. In Hillcrest you’ll find plenty of mixed-use developments that incorporate residential, retail, and business components that have attracted many people to work and live there. There are countless restaurants, boutique shops, art galleries, and charming homes that make Hillcrest unique. Hillcrest is also home to UCSD Medical Center and Scripps Hospital.
