Steve McNally

Steve McNally serves as Chief of Staff for Councilmember Faulconer and is responsible for the overall operation and accountability of the District 2 team. Prior to his appointment with Councilmember Faulconer, Steve founded several small companies in the software and technology industries. Most recently, he owned and operated a manufacturing and distribution company that specialized in radio and wireless test equipment.
Steve graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Business Decision Systems and earned a master's degree at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. He resides in Mission Hills and sails frequently on San Diego Bay.

Matt Awbrey

Matt Awbrey is Councilmember Faulconer's representative in Little Italy, Point Loma and Midway. He also works with issues surrounding the airport, CDBG funds, City pension, and water/sewer financing. In addition, Matt advises Councilmember Faulconer on matters relating to budget/finance and City audit.
A native San Diegan, Matt received his bachelor's degrees in International Relations and Communication from the University of California at Davis. He has worked at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC, and on a number of San Diego political campaigns.

Thyme Curtis

Thyme Curtis works with the district two communities of Pacific Beach and Mount Soledad and advises Councilmember Faulconer on alcohol policy and homeless and affordable housing issues.
A 12-year resident of the city of San Diego and a graduate of San Diego State University with her Bachelor's degree in public relations, Thyme enjoys hiking with her dogs, traveling, gardening, and photography. |

Jamie Fox Rice

Jamie Fox Rice serves as Councilmember Faulconer's Director of Communications and Policy. Her experience includes working as Deputy Chief of Staff for former Councilmember Ralph Inzunza, Press Secretary for Councilmember Donna Frye's mayoral campaign, public relations for various nonprofit organizations, and lecturer for the Department of Rhetoric and Writing Studies at San Diego Sate University. She has her undergraduate degree in Consumer Sciences and her master's degree in Comparative Literature.
She handles the following issues for District 2: Media & Communications; Policy oversight; Natural Resources Committee; Environment; Arts and Culture; Water & Sewer; Community Development Block Grant Programs; and Labor issues. She is also responsible for the Mission Beach and Mission Bay communities. |

James Lawson

James Lawson serves as Councilmember Faulconer's representative for the areas of Ocean Beach, Mission Hills and Old Town. He advises Councilmember Faulconer on issues related to undergrounding, Metropolitan Transit System, city Properties and Intergovernmental Relations. James has been a resident of the San Diego area since 2001 and is currently finishing his education at the University of San Diego. |
