The park covers 1,200 acres and includes recreational and passive park space, gardens, trails, museums, performing arts and international culture organizations, along with the world famous San Diego Zoo. Balboa Park is famous for hosting International Expositions in 1915 and 1935 and for its amazing Spanish Colonial Revival architecture.
