            <description><![CDATA[October 7, 2011 - San Diego City Council President Tony Young and his wife, Jacque, joined local business leaders to announce plans to expand the San Diego Food Bank's &quot;Food 4 Kids Backpack&quot; program that provides weekend food to chronically hungry elementary school children throughout the region. Enough money was recently pledged by individuals and companies to distribute an additional 75 weekend food backpacks to students in southeastern San Diego schools. This coming school year, the Food Bank hopes to help 1,125 children at 29 elementary schools who would otherwise go hungry if they weren't given backpacks full of food every Friday afternoon.]]></description>
