Committee Consultant Public Safety & Neighborhood Services

Lea is the consultant for the Public Safety & Neighborhood Services committee. The PS&NS committee’s areas of responsibility include police, fire, neighborhood parks, recreation programs, youth services, senior services, Community Development Block Grant, neighborhood code enforcement, graffiti abatement and parking regulations and enforcement.

Lea has an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of San Diego and a law degree from California Western School of Law.

Prior to joining Councilman Young’s staff, Lea was a Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Diego where she worked in a number of different capacities, including as a neighborhood prosecutor. She is a former board member of the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association, Lawyers Club of San Diego and the San Diego County Bar Association.
