Home to one of the nation's, and the
world's, largest concentration of high technology telecommunications
and biotech research companies, Sorrento Mesa sits above Sorrento
Valley on the western edge of District 5. In addition to this crucial
center of San Diego's economy, Sorrento Mesa includes several neighborhoods
developed under the Smart Growth concept of allowing residents to
live near employment centers and transportation hubs. Sorrento Mesa
residents and employees can easily reach Interstates 5 and 805, and
State Routes 56 and 52.
