Established in the late 1960's, Mira Mesa sits on the southern rim of Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve and has a population of 72,000, including young homeowners, families, military families, students and single people. The community is surrounded by a range of recreational activities and eight community parks including a teen center, senior center, community recreation center, ice arena, and an aquatic complex.
