Denice Garcia
Director of Community Outreach and Economic Development
Denice Garcia currently serves as Director of Community Outreach and Economic Development for Councilman Kersey. She most recently served as Director of Boards and Commissions and Protocol/Bi-National Affairs for the Office of Mayor Jerry Sanders.
Prior to her work for the City of San Diego, Denice worked as the Events and Corporate Relations Manager for the San Diego County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and as Special Projects Director at Latino Literacy Now/Edward James Olmos Latino Book and Family Festival. She is a graduate of San Diego State University, with a degree in International Business, an emphasis is Latin America and Spanish, and a minor in Psychology. She also studied at the Universidad de Salamanca, Spain. Her professional development includes graduation from LEAD San Diego's IMPACT program (2010) and H.O.P.E (Hispanas Organized for Political Equality) Leadership Institute (2009). She serves as President for the National Latina Business Association-San Diego Chapter.
