Frye Approves $35, 000 For Carson Elementary School Allocation is first step in turfing approximately 1.6 acres of existing decomposed granite fields San Diego, California - Councilmember Frye today approved $35,000 to design new improvements for the fields at Carson Elementary School in Linda Vista. This project will ultimately provide for the turfing of approximately 1.6 acres of existing decomposed granite fields to meet the athletic and recreation needs of Carson Elementary School and the community of Linda Vista. The fields will be developed and maintained through a 25-year lease and joint use agreement with the San Diego Unified School District. "Linda Vista is desperately in need of additional park space," Frye stated. "These fields will not totally fill that gap, but they will help. One of my top goals is to expand and enhance the parkland throughout District Six so families will have a place to go and relax or recreate." The General Development Plan for Carson Elementary School joint use area will be prepared with input from the community, and the final General Development Plan will undergo the Park and Recreation Department approval process. The $35,000 of funding will be used to enter into a consultant agreement and prepare the General Development Plan. # # # |
