This priority is actually several components of a General Fund program in the Planning Department. There are five communities within Council District 6 that have an adopted community plan: Kearny Mesa, Serra Mesa, Clairemont Mesa, Linda Vista and Mission Valley.

Updates
As need arises, community plans are updated with available staff in the Community Planning section of the Planning Department. The most recent plan update in Council District 6 was Linda Vista in 1998. Serra Mesa and Kearny Mesa have had major amendments in the past several years. An update to the Mission Valley Community Plan has begun and will be coordinated with Strategic Framework efforts.

Implementation
Implementation of adopted community plans is an ongoing function. Implementation is done through community planning group support, development project review, public contact, action plans, grant applications, coordination with other city departments and outside agencies, and special community-based projects, among other efforts.
