As Lorie’s Communications Advisor, Alex is responsible for all District 6 communications and social media. Alex also advises Lorie on transportation policy issues, and policy that comes before the SANDAG Board of Directors, SANDAG Transportation Committee and San Diego SAFE.
A native San Diegan, Alex earned her Bachelor’s Degree from San Diego State University in 2009. Prior to joining Lorie’s office, Alex worked in communications and public affairs for a local small business, MJE Marketing. There, she worked closely on numerous community outreach projects including the SANDAG Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project and the San Diego International Airport ALUCP. She also led the national award-winning social media communication efforts for the 2010 Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl and San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. Before working at MJE, she interned for San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders in the Press and Community Outreach departments, and spent time as a student worker in the office of County Supervisor Greg Cox.
