Jack Straw joined Councilmember Zapf's office in July 2011. He is responsible for advising the Councilmember on environmental policy issues, including canyons and the San Diego River. He is also the Councilmember's advisor on the Natural Resources & Culture committee, the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), the San Diego River Conservancy, and the SANDAG Shorline Preservation Working Group.
Jack is a native of Laguna Niguel, CA who graduated from San Diego State University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Since graduating, he has worked on and managed several grassroots campaigns for various elected officials and local ballot measures throughout the Southern California region. His experience with directly engaging constituents about important issues will help create a strong line of communication between the City of San Diego and the communities he will be representing.
