Tierrasanta is nestled between the hills of Mission Trails and the San Diego River and has been a community of San Diego since 1972. The unique geography of Tierrasanta is the reason why many residents refer to it as "The Island in the Hills." Its beautiful natural surroundings and vibrant community parks make Tierrasanta a pleasant place to call home.
Some of the most popular assets of the Tierrasanta Community include the Tierrasanta Library, the Tierrasanta Recreation Center, Tierrasanta Community Park, Road Runner Park, Monserate Park, and Kumeyaay Park. In addition to these valuable community resources, Tierrasanta sits just next door to Mission Trails Regional Park - one of our regions most treasured and valued open space preserves.
Residents of Tierrasanta can become involved with various local community organizations including the Tierrasanta Community Council which meets on the third Wednesday of the month at the Tierrasanta Recreation Center at 7:00 p.m. The Tierrasanta Park and Recreation Council meets in the same location on the second Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. More information on these organizations can be found by visiting their website at www.tierrasantacc.org.
