Eminent Domain Reform at the State Level

I am pleased to share with you that today California State Assembly Member Hector De La Torre (D-Southgate) announced the introduction of ACA 8, along with a statutory companion, that will provide eminent domain relief to homeowners and small business owners in the State of California. I attended the press conference in Sacramento as the First Vice President of the League of California Cities. I then joined League representatives in visiting the offices of a number of Assembly Members to stress how substantial this package is and to reinforce that this is important for our State. There is a broad coalition supporting the package including homeowner groups, small business representatives, labor, environmental, community and ethnic organizations.
