Mission Trails Regional Park East Fortuna Equestrian Staging Area
The grand opening of the Mission Trails Regional Park (MTRP) Equestrian Staging Area was on Saturday, December 4th, 2004. Councilmember Madaffer, Mayor Murphy, Santee Councilmember Brian Jones, San Diego Park and Recreation Director Ellen Oppenheim and Dorothy Leonard, Secretary/Treasurer of the MTRP Foundation kicked off the event. After the brief ceremony, the park's annual Arbor Day activities followed. Cottonwood, sycamore and live oak trees were all planted at the Staging Area.
You must come visit this newest jewel in Mission Trails!? It is easy to get to. From Highway 52 or Mission Gorge Road, it is right off Mast Boulevard and then enter the park at the new Equestrian Staging Area entrance. The equestrian and staging area is now open to the public.
This is the first phase of a larger scale project. The new staging area is a joint project of the Mission Trails Regional Park Foundation and the City of San Diego.
