Elyse Lowe - Rules, Open Government and Intergovernmental Relations Committee Consultant

Elyse Lowe is the Rules, Open Government and Intergovernmental Relations Committee Consultant. She has over ten years experience in City government, having worked for the Environmental Services Department, as well as the Financial Management Department of the City of San Diego. She previously served Councilmember Jim Madaffer as the Land Use and Housing Committee Consultant, Crossroads Redevelopment Area Director, as well as a Council Representative in the City Heights and Tierrasanta communities. She is a native San Diegan and lived in District 7 for 13 years.

Elyse is a graduate of UC Santa Cruz, Crown College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in Earth Science, with an emphasis on Coastal Zone Management. She holds a professional certificate in Community Economic Development from San Diego State University, was selected to participate in the Water Education Foundation in Sacramento’s Water Leaders Program (2005) and is a 2007 graduate of LEAD San Diego. She has raced sailboats for over 20 years, and is an active member of Southwestern Yacht Club’s Competition Committee. She is the past president of the San Diego Women's Environmental Council, and currently volunteers for LEAD San Diego.
