Southcrest
Southcrest is part of the Southeastern redevelopment area and neighbor to National City. It is home to dwelling units built in the 1950's and 1960's. The community is experiencing an influx of revitalization, with hundreds of affordable homes being built and new parks being developed where vacant lots used to be. The 252 Corridor Park is an open space park which includes Chollas Creek. Currently, the Chollas Creek Enhancement Program is working to maintain this natural habitat as beautiful, open space. The close-knit community also boasts of its yearly block parties, which create neighborhood unity and support.
