Driving and Walking Are Now More Enjoyable Due to Road and Sidewalk Improvements
It is not as easy to count cracks in the sidewalks on city streets as it used to be. I am pleased to report that my effort to improve our District Eight's infrastructure is paying off. Smooth streets, repaired sidewalks, strategically placed, new cross walks and appropriately located traffic lights allow pedestrians to cross busy streets safely. These seemingly minor improvements make a big difference for the safety of our residents and overall quality of life.
Many of the potholes that made driving a shaky and squeaky experience, and bumpy sidewalks that forced walkers and bikers to tread carefully, are being repaired. You will see workers as early as June fixing even more streets and sidewalks. Most of the work should be finished by the end of 2010. As a result, many more of you can smile these days and you enjoy the great outdoors.
Our Vision: The City of San Diego is financially stable, environmentally sound, and moving in the right direction. City government is trusted, fair, collaborative and efficient; citizens of San Diego are proud of their government.
