Friends of Scott Foundation Day
Tuesday, November 24th, was officially named Friends of Scott Foundation Day in the City of San Diego. This non-profit organization was formed nearly 10 years ago by Scott's older brother, Eric, and friends of the 13-year old, who fought a valiant battle against Leukemia. After Scott died, these teenagers wanted to find a way to honor their friend's life and help other kids fighting childhood cancer so they formed the Friends of Scott Foundation. As the teenagers grew up and headed for college, Scott's parents, Henry and Carmen Delgadillo, as well as many volunteers, stepped up to run the organization.
The Friends of Scott has no paid staff and every dollar raised goes to fund the many events for these courageous youngsters. Events such as Karaoke Night, theatre outings, beach parties, holiday parties and Prom Night all help kids forget about their cancer for a few hours.
