Crawford Teens See Justice in Action
Crawford High's Law and Business (LAB) class put its legal firepower to the test. Students held their first Teen Court on April 19. Their instructor, Steve Luttbeg, coordinated the event with Holly Wright from San Diego's Teen Court Administrator from Social Advocates for Youth. Crawford students volunteered after school to serve as jurors for legal proceedings against two youths. In Teen Court, the jury decides appropriate sentencing from a pool of options. One of the benefits of Teen Court is that defendants who fulfill their sentencing will have their record cleared. Crawford students were able to give back to their community while learning real-life lessons from their classes. For information, please contact Steve Luttbeg at (619) 583-2503, ext. 4209.
