"Official Bikesharing Provider of the City of San Diego"
The Corporate Partnership Agreement between the City and DecoBike will provide the City of San Diego's residents and visitors with a privately funded public Bikesharing Program valued at approximately $8 million, with DecoBike funding, operating and maintaining the Program. In 2013, by a vote of 7-0, the City Council approved a corporate partnership agreement with DecoBike, LLC for a 10 year term.
The program is expected to launch in 2014. It will be implemented citywide, and as an alternative transportation program, it will generate great benefit to the community.
- Number of bikes: 1,800 – 2,200
- Number of stations: 180 – 220
- Number of bike docks: 3,240 – 3,960
"The addition of DecoBike in San Diego will help to complete the city's transportation networks as a highly efficient first-mile, last-mile commuter program, which is very complimentary to the city's existing public transportation programs. San Diego is such a beautiful city and we strive to improve mobility and the quality of life for everyone. Our program will create jobs, reduce air pollution and traffic congestion while moving people more efficiently around the city." DecoBike co-founders Ricardo Pierdant and Bonifacio Diaz
