City Offers Three Business Assistance Seminars for South Bay

SAN DIEGO – The City of San Diego’s Community and Economic Development Department is coordinating three business assistance seminars during April in the communities of San Ysidro, Otay Mesa and South Bay.  These seminars will inform business owners and entrepreneurs of available assistance programs and business incentives. Admission is free for all three seminars.

The seminars will allow the attendees to find out what type of no- or low-cost assistance programs are available to South Bay businesses.  The programs include information on state tax credits through the Enterprise Zone Program when purchases of equipment are made or employees are hired.  Free management counseling to businesses will also be available, among other incentives.

All seminars will include presenters from the City of San Diego’s Community and Economic Development Department, the Service Corp of Retired Executives (SCORE) as well as the Southwestern College Small Business and International Trade Center. On April 12 and 19, the seminars will also include a presentation from the City of San Diego’s Equal Opportunity Contracting Program.

On April 12, 2002, the City of San Diego, in partnership with the Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce, will hold the Essential Business Tools seminar for the Otay Mesa Community at the Comfort Suites Hotel, located at 2351 Otay Center Drive, from 9 to 11 a.m. For more information please call 619-661-6111.  For reservations please fax name, contact information and number of attendees to 619-661-6178.
