The City Announces a Change in Venue for the Midway Pacific Corridor Community Plan Meeting
Community residents, businesses and organizations asked to attend workshop to be held March 23rd at the Hampton Inn

SAN DIEGO The Redevelopment Agency announced that there has been a change in venue for the scheduled community meeting to discuss the update of the Midway Pacific Corridor Community Plan.  The new location is the Hampton Inn, located at 3888 Greenwood Street.

This is the third and final meeting to discuss the change to the community plan. The meeting will be held on March 23rd, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  This workshop will build on the progress of the previous two workshops.  The final workshop will analyze and prioritize the collected data which will be used to amend the Community Plan.

Previously, residents, business owners and community organizations made recommendations to amend the Community Plan.  The recommendations included eliminating the “Bay to Bay” concept and replacing it with alternate open space and land use strategies.  Additionally, a preliminary engineering study, completed in 2003, concluded that the implementation of the “Bay to Bay” concept was not financially feasible.

For more information about the community plan amendment process, contact Maxx Stalheim of the City’s Planning Department at (619) 236-6153 or visit the City’s web site at www.sandiego.gov/planning.
