1.  DEFINE PROJECT
  Types of Permits/Approvals

There are several types of permits depending on the complexity of your project:

  • No-Plan Permits
Simple projects such as plumbing or electrical that do not require plans, will need permits, but can be obtained without coming to our offices.
  • Over-the-Counter Permits
Simple projects such as minor additions to your home or simple remodels of commercial space, require permits, but can usually be obtained the same day in person by appointment while you wait.
  • Large Project Permits
More complicated projects (ministerial or discretionary) such as subdivision of property, extensive remodels, or construction of new structures will require that plans and documents be submitted to Development Services for review.

Not sure if your project needs a permit?
