Occupancy Time and Costs

Occupancy is the final step in the building permit project review process. The key to obtaining occupancy is for the design and construction team to work at coordinating the resolution of all required clearance items from the inspection list and to provide all required documentation. This includes the completion of deferred submittals and plan changes in a timely manner, as well as the completion of all special inspection and structural observation requirements. Project closeout requires occupancy, completion of any required record drawings, and documents (such as As-built/As-graded) including any required recordations (maps/easements/dedications/Encroachment Maintenance & Removal Agreement (EMRA), etc.) and payment of any outstanding balances.
