Economic Development Tourism Support

The City's Economic Development and Tourism Support (EDTS) Program provides Transient Occupancy Tax funds through a competitive merit based application process, to qualified nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations that produce programs and events that improve the City's economy by boosting tourism, attracting new businesses, and increasing jobs in the area.

The general requirements and conditions for the allocation of TOT funding for the EDTS Program are outlined in City Council Policy 100-03.

In general the EDTS application will be made available in December or January. The applications are generally considered by a review panel over the following months. The Panel's recommendations are submitted as part of the annual budget. City Council typically will consider the recommendations during the City Council Budget Hearings. Recommendations are considered finalized when the City's annual Appropriation Ordinance is adopted in June/July.
