67th Street Sidewalk Improvements Project

Project Background

The purpose of the project is to provide pedestrian access through the neighborhood by providing sidewalks where currently no sidewalks exist. This will offer pedestrians better access to existing bus stops and enhanced safety measures in this highly pedestrian trafficked area. This neighborhood consists of both single family homes and apartment buildings all needing safe access to local businesses and San Diego State University.

Project Overview

The project will provide new sidewalks and driveways along both sides of 67th Street between El Cajon Boulevard and Amherst Street. New pedestrian ramps will also be included in the project.

Benefits

The purpose of the project is to calm traffic, install curb ramps, and provide safer travel conditions for pedestrian and bicycle traffic.

Cost

The construction contract is for $117,009.

Schedule

Construction Start: January 2011
Construction Finish: April 2011
