Sewer Group Replacement 725
Background
Sewer mains across the City of San Diego have served their design life. These mains are old and have become unable to service the City’s growing demand. This project will replace old, deteriorating and under capacity sewer mains in the SDSU College area.
Project Overview
Sewer Group 725 consists of the installation of 4,622 lineal feet of 8-inch sewer mains and manholes, as well as the rehabilitation of other sewer mains. The areas and limits of work are as follows:
- College Ave. between Montezuma Rd. & Pontiac St; and between Pontiac St. & Mesita Dr.
- Cresita Dr. west of College Ave.
- Alley between College Ave. & Montezuma Rd.
- Rockford Dr. between Montezuma Rd. & Dorothy Dr; and between Mesita Dr. & Pontiac St.
- Pontiac St. between College Ave. and Rockford Dr.
- Mesita Dr. between College Ave/Canyon & Rockford Dr.
- College Ave Canyon between Cresita Dr. & Arosa St.
The project also involves surveying, potholing for existing utilities, asphalt saw cutting of trenches, and slurry sealing of roads. Road closures, detours, temporary “No Parking” and restricted access might be implemented during working hours.
Construction Schedule
Construction is scheduled to begin October 26th 2009 and is estimated to complete in the spring of 2010.
Normal working hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Cost
Total estimated cost of the project is $1, 347,370.
