The existing sewer has deteriorated and will be replaced with state-of-the-art materials that are far more resistant to deterioration, breaks, and blockage and will be upsized to meet current standards. This upgrade in your community will occur within the coming months utilizing open trench construction.
Construction of the project will reduce sewer spills and maintenance requirements, improve service reliability and upgrade the system to modern standards. In addition, this project will decrease sewer main breaks and stoppages and improve the sewage collection system within the area.
Sewer Group 753 is part of the Sewer Main Replacement Program as mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This project is located in the Centre City Community area. This project consists of the replacement of approximately 5,395 linear feet (1.05 miles) of existing sewer mains and all other work and appurtenances. It also includes the installation of curb ramps and slurry seal.
The streets affected by construction operations are 12th Ave., 14th St., 15th St., Russ Blvd., 16th St., 17th St., and E St. These areas are shown on the attached site map.
Total project cost is approximately $2,031,000.
Construction Start: July 2011
Construction Finish: March 2012
