Sewer Rehabilitation Phase J-1C is part of a program established by the City of San Diego and the Environmental Protection Agency mandating the rehabilitation of old deteriorated concrete and clay sewer mains.
This project includes the rehabilitation of approximately 47,135 linear feet (8.93 miles) of sewer main occurring in the City's right of way and utilizing trenchless technology. Access to rehabilitate the sewer mains will be through the existing manholes and/or cleanouts. Other related work within would entail the connection of laterals to the rehabilitated mains, manhole rehabilitations, new manhole installations at sewer main plugs, and several external spot repairs.
Construction of this project will be operated within the public roadway. The contractor will develop, obtain City approval for, and implement traffic control drawings during construction to protect public safety within the project area(s). Also, the Contractor will be directed at all times to keep the area as clean as possible from dirt and dust. This project is in the Serra Mesa Community.
Construction is scheduled to start October 2010 and finish April of 2011.
The total cost of this project is estimated at $5,463,901.00 which includes design, construction and inspection.
