Curbside Recycling and Curbside Greenery
Q: What if my home/apartment/condo does not have a curbside
recycling container?
A: Most residences that have City-collected
trash service are eligible for curbside
recycling. Call Customer Service at 858-694-7000 to see if you are
eligible and to order a container. If your home uses a private company
for trash collection you are not eligible for the City's curbside recycling
program. In order to provide convenient recycling opportunities for residents
without curbside recycling, the City has established the Park
and Recreation Recycling Program and maintains a current list of recycling
buy-back centers (PDF: 629K).
Q: When will I get "yard waste" or
"greenery" collection at my house?
A: The expansion of Greenery collection to a citywide service, in neighborhoods where sufficient
greenery is generated to economically justify separate collection, is planned to occur over the next four
years.
Q: What can I do with my yard waste if I do not have City collection?
A: Take it yourself to Miramar
Greenery recycling at the Miramar Landfill where it will be accepted
free of charge if you are a City resident.
