How to Purchase
Specialized garden products are now available at the Miramar Greenery including a variety of compost, mulch and wood chip products.
City of San Diego residents may self-load up to two cubic yards of compost or mulch for free with proof of residency. Mulch and compost loaded by Greenery staff and wood chips can be purchased at the Miramar Landfill fee booth located at the landfill's entrance. All Greenery products are priced by the cubic yard and include sales tax. One cubic yard is equal to the size of six 32-gallon trash cans.
How to Pick Up Compost, Mulch, and Wood Chips
Customers pay for products at the landfill entrance and pick up materials at the Miramar Greenery after showing their receipt. Those who paid for compost, wood chips, or mulch will have their vehicle loaded by one of the Greenery equipment operators. Those who hand load mulch or compost need to provide their own tools such as a shovel, container and tarp. All vehicles must have their loads covered. It is advised to bring and wear a dust mask while loading and spreading the material.

Payment Information
- Only cash and checks are accepted. No debit or credit cards.
- Make checks payable to City Treasurer.
- A penalty of $26 will be imposed on all returned checks.
- Please request a receipt for your transaction.
- For efficient transactions, large volume/tonnage customers can apply for Deferred Payment Account Services
