During the Project
- Ensure that at least 50% of all of the project's debris is recycled
or reused on-site or off-site.
- Save all recycling, reuse and disposal receipts from project related
debris. Photos proving donation and reuse of items may be accepted in
certain cases as a proof of reuse of project debris.
- Consider the economic benefits, space availability, quantity of the
different types of materials, waste diversion rates of Certified Recycling
Facilities, and proximity to Certified Recycling Facilities to determine
whether the project's debris will be collected all together in a mixed
C&D load or be separated by material types (source separation).
Source separated recycling may have more economic benefits, requires
more space for separated collection of the different materials and additional
hauling trips to different recyclers.
