To encourage residents to recycle old directoriesinstead of trashing
themEnvironmental Services Department and AT&T promotes the
2008 San Diego Telephone Book Recycling Program: Project ReDirectory.
The old directories are recycled into new paper products such as new directories,
mailing envelopes, bathroom tissue, paper towels, and cereal boxes.
How to participate
After the new directories are delivered, San Diegans can recycle the
outdated 2007 phone books in the City's blue curbside recycling bins,
or at any of the City's 44 drop-off recycling stations at Park
and Recreation Centers located throughout the City. The sale of recyclables
collected at park facilities directly benefits the centers by providing
funds to purchase equipment and to sponsor community activities.
To find the drop-off location nearest you, call the AT&T Yellow Pages
Recycling Hotline at (800) 953-4400. Or you may call the Environmental
Services General Department Information for additional recycling information.
