Architects, Engineers and Related Professional Services consultants are necessary to provide services that are either unavailable because of a lack of expertise within the City of San Diego (City) or because expert personnel are occupied with existing projects. In either case the City must acquire the services of consultants. The manner in which consultants are hired is twofold. For Specific Projects the City request Statements of Qualification from consultants through advertising (see City Bulletin web page). For projects up to $250,000, the City has teamed with the County of San Diego and the Port of San Diego to establish, on a yearly basis, a Joint Consultant Rotation List.
